They have mandated NetTalent to search for a talented Cloud Security Engineer with expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) to join their dynamic IT team.
Job overview
As a Cloud Security Engineer specialising in AWS, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the cloud infrastructure, applications, and data against potential threats and vulnerabilities. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in IT, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure the security and compliance of of the cloud environment, while enabling innovation and growth within the business.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage security solutions and controls within AWS environments to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and address security gaps and risks.
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and analyse security logs, alerts, and incidents to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into the development lifecycle of cloud-based applications and services.
- Stay abreast of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies in the cloud computing landscape and recommend appropriate countermeasures.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on cloud security matters, advising leadership on risk management and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- Relevant certifications: AWS Certified Security – Speciality. CISSP or CCSP is a plus.
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing security controls in AWS cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of AWS services and architecture, including IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and CloudFormation.
- Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies such as AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, Inspector, WAF, and KMS.
- Knowledge of network security principles, encryption protocols, and secure coding practices.
- Familiarity with industry compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001) and their implications for cloud security.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex security issues and propose effective solutions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Fluent communication skills in Dutch and English.
